Teaching two academic courses of the Jean Monnet module (September to December 2019)

The Fall semester (September to December 2019) of the Jean Monnet module “Governance in the EU and European Integration Policy” included teaching two academic courses to the MA level students.

The course “European Integration Policy” was taught to the MA students of the “Public Administration and Administration” specialty. It covered the historical aspects of European integration, the contemporary political, economic and institutional aspects of the EU functioning. Special attention was devoted to the current EU-Ukraine relations and possible future prospects for EU-Ukraine cooperation in the framework of Ukraine’s European integration. The course lectures were taught by Yuliana Palagnyuk (Doctor of Sciences in Public Administration, Professor). The seminars were led by Dmytro Say (PhD in Education, Associate Professor). The classes included and interactive activities, PowerPoint presentations, group discussions, brainstorming method etc.

The course “EU Institutional and Legal System” was taught to MA students of the “Social Work” specialty. The main attention was devoted to studying the organizational structure of the EU governing bodies and institutions, the procedures for their formation and their powers, as well as the EU legal system. The course lectures were taught by Svitlana Soroka (Doctor of Sciences in Public Administration, Professor). The seminars were led by Dmytro Say (PhD in Education, Associate Professor). The classes included discussions, Q&A sessions and interactive activities, including two simulation games: Meeting of the European Council and Meeting of the European Parliament.

At the end of the courses, the students successfully passed the exams.
